We can never forget we share space with wild animals even within the city, however, that does not mean they are welcome in our homes, attics, soffits, crawlspaces or backyards. Humane treatment of the animals is something Tyler takes pride in. Since we are removing the animals from their homes, he takes into consideration not to allow the animals to suffer or remain exposed when caught in the trap. They are quickly removed.
-
Raccoons, squirrels, opossum, skunk and woodchuck/groundhogs, fox and coyote are Tyler’s specialty and he has handled hundreds of these nuisance animals either in the ground or while trapping them.
Exclusion and remediation are key to success. Tyler will remove the animals for you and explain the plan to remediate the issue. Just removing the problem animals will not solve the problem. Other animals will smell the presence of the prior animals and will generally find the open access. Tyler quotes the animal removal and repairs and remediation! Animals in your attic, soffits or crawlspace can cause significant damage.

If you suspect a colony of bats in your attic or garage please remember bats are a protected species in the State of Ohio and cannot be lawfully killed. They should be removed as soon as possible because their feces can contain a disease known as histoplasmosis. This disease affects the human lung and respiratory system. You should not remove or disturb bat feces without the proper respirator to protect your lungs from the harmful dust and feces.
Removal and exclusion of 15 or more bats between May 16 - July 31 is unlawful unless there is a threat to human health and safety.
A property owner may seek written authorization from the Chief of the Division of Wildlife to perform an exclusion during the restricted period. Let 614Wildlife help you with this request and then removal of the bats once approved.
If you discover the bats outside of the restricted time 614Wildlife will give you a free estimate for removal and clean up.
Remember there are TEN Bat species commonly found in Ohio and they are all insectivores, meaning they eat insects. Bats use existing openings in homes such as cracks as small as 1 1/4 inch by 3/8 inch to enter buildings roosting in attics. An exclusion device must be placed over the entry point, allowing bats to exit the structure and not reenter.
Once all bats are gone, 614Wildlife will remove the one way door and close up the access point. Never handle a bat with your bare hands as they have a very powerful bite with sharp teeth. Bats are great at pest control however they will also cause a huge mess with their feces piles at their nesting/roosting site. The sooner you call 614Wildlife for removal the less damage and expense you will encounter. -
Skunks can be a significant issue if you have a backyard where you let your dogs out at night. Skunks being nocturnal may be harmlessly wandering through your backyard looking for a tasty morsel at the same time you let your dog out. Skunks are not the most agile or nimble creatures. You may have seen them waddling around kind of like they have no worries in the world. They are not quick and likely will not outrun most dogs...... Well they also don't need to outrun the dog because they have a "chemical weapon" The skunk if frightened will stop and turn to protect itself raising its tail and pointing it's rear end at the target, shooting a very foul smelling oil from the glands located around the anus.
Remember skunks are not always black with white stripes. Oftentimes skunks can be almost all white or all black with very little white coloration. If you think you see a skunk but it does not have the classic stripes you still may have a skunk.
Additionally, Skunks can cause significant damage to yards. If you find an area of your yard dug up with some areas of dead grass that damage was likely caused by a skunk (sometimes raccoon). The skunks are good diggers and are looking for grubs. When you get your free estimate 614Wildlife will assure you the raccoon or skunk problem can be remediated.

614Wildlife understands animal behavior and knows that the proper permanent closure of the access point is paramount in eliminating the problem. There are several techniques used for total exclusion. All situations are different and an on site free estimate is offered by 614Wildlife.
You will have a full understanding of what is needed for the repairs and you will have a complete understanding of the expected cost of the repair and exclusion. This exclusion is guaranteed at that access point and 614Wildlife will come back out and fix the site if the animals find their way back into the remediated site within the first year.Common areas of access that 614Wildlife has exclusion and repair experience: Exhaust fans and venting from kitchens or bathrooms are common areas for birds to get into the house. Chimney access is also common access points for raccoons and squirrels, chimney caps or screens will be added to keep the animals out after they have been trapped and removed. Roof venting or ridge caps that become loose are also great access points for squirrels and raccoons, and sealing these is necessary to stop future "offenders" from entering the attic or soffit. Soffits are typically weak points in homes that animals use to find a way to get into your attic space. Once in they have full access to the attic you will likely hear noises in the attic or baby animal sounds. 614Wildlife has experience reinforcing the soffit in the areas where the animals can push or pull the soffit open. Decking is also a location where nuisance animals can find a home underneath. 614Wildlife can remove the animals then reinforce, screen, or fence the decking to keep all future animals out.

IF I DO NOT TRAP the Animal it Still May Never Return!
Sometimes animals are not trapped, but are evicted through a one way door. These removals are billed the same as trapping “per animal.” In most circumstances, babies are included in the initial fee and there is not a per animal fee for babies when the mother is removed. There are times when my presence will cause the animal to leave and take the babies to another den. Then we can start the exclusion. This is confirmed with cellular camera monitoring.
There will be NO surprise fees.
Some circumstances such as difficult locations or no access, or multiple animals may require an increased feel for the baby removal. These will be explained up front.

Typical Pricing for Nuisance Animals
-
Raccoon jobs on the ground are in the range of $200 for the first animal. Other options include the 5 day trapping option where the price is quoted for a 5 day trapping period. Baited raccoon traps require me to come to the trap site twice a day in most circumstances. Raccoons, in soffits, attics, gables, etc. will be quoted per job and will be higher in price due to ladder work and trap placement strategies. For ground work, off species animals will be removed at flat fee per animal depending on distance and location. Exclusion work will be quoted separately after the removal of the animal. In most cases I do not recommend closing the access for raccoons until the animal has been trapped and removed.
-
Typically Opossum jobs on the ground are in the range of $200 for the first animal. Other options include the 5 day trapping option where the price is quoted for a 5 day trapping period. Baited Opossum traps require me to come to the trap site twice a day in most circumstances. Price may vary based on access and location of the animal. Additionally off species animals will be removed at flat fee per animal depending on distance and location.

Typically squirrel jobs on the ground are in the range of $200 for the first animal. Other options include the 5 day trapping option where the price is quoted for a 5 day trapping period. Baited squirrel traps require me to come to the trap site twice a day in most circumstances. Squirrels in attics, soffits, gables, etc. will have a higher price due to ladder work and trap placement strategies. Exclusion work will be quoted separately after the removal of the animal. In most cases I do not recommend closing the access for squirrels until the animal has been trapped and removed.
-
Typically groundhog jobs on the are in the range of $200 for the first animal. Other options include the 5 day trapping option where the price is quoted for a 5 day trapping period. Baited groundhog traps require me to come to the trap site twice a day in most circumstances and are not usually as effective as trapping the groundhog with a positive set. When a double door trap (positive set) is placed on the groundhog sette, they are forced to use the trap to access their den. This ensures the groundhog will be trapped. Groundhogs have a tendency to disappear for days at a time so do not be concerned if you do not see them for a couple days after the trap has been set. Additionally off species animals will be removed at flat fee per animal depending on distance and location.
-
Typically the removal of the nest is in the area of $200 for the nest, although that depends on where the nest is located. Nests in attics, soffits, bathroom or exhaust vents will incur more time and difficulty and will be quoted per job. Clean up will be quoted at the time of estimate. Exclusion will be quoted once the birds and nest have been removed.
-
On-Site quote is required.
If you suspect a colony of bats in your attic or garage, please remember bats are a protected species in the State of Ohio and they can not be lawfully killed. Timing is important for bats as there are times of the year when they cannot be excluded from their protective environment. Exclusion and clean up are as important as getting the bats out of your house or garage and will be quoted separately.
Pricing for
Skunks
-
Typical skunk jobs range in the area of $300 per Skunk removed. The five day or longer trapping option is encouraged for skunks. This will be quoted based on your location to my office as I will need to check the skunk traps twice a day to reset the bait. Skunks have a tendency to roam and disappear for days at a time. If you have skunks on your cameras and signs of digging in your yard you may have grubs. Treating for grubs in the late summer or early fall should be considered.
This fee for skunks is higher due to the complications with the removal and risk of the skunk spraying while being transported in my truck. Also there is no guarantee the skunk will not spray on your property while in the trap or while being removed from your property.
